I did it. I finally tried the Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookie. I have been daydreaming about these cookies for months now, from seeing them in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, to seeing them being shared on blogs and Instagram accounts. The hype was real.

I’ll be honest here. This cookie is not amazing. It’s definitely far from “bakery fresh”, but it does have that cookie taste if you know what I’m talking about.

The texture is really nice. It’s slightly chewy, not hard like cardboard, and it doesn’t taste like a “protein” cookie. However, my taste test could tell that there was protein powder in the cookie, and it left a slight aftertaste.

There are a decent amount of chocolate chips where each bite will ensure that you get at least a couple chips. Not a mouthful of chocolate, but enough that you know that you’re biting into a chocolate chip cookie.

From what I’ve heard, the Complete Cookie comes in 2 sizes: a 2oz cookie and a 4oz cookie. The macros below are for 2oz of the chocolate chip cookie.

  • Calories: 180 (Calories from Fat: 50)
  • Carbs: 24g (Fiber: 4g | Sugars: 14g)
  • Protein: 8g
  • Fat: 6g

Although the Complete Cookie is marketed as “Vegan”, “Non-Gmo”, and “No High Fructose Corn Syrup”, don’t be tempted to believe it’s healthy.

Although it does contain protein powder, little doses of calcium and fiber, and is probably lower in sugars than many desserts, it is definitely an indulgence.

So don’t let the name and the marketing fool you into believing you’ve stumbled across a super-healthy cookie. These are a sweet, sugary dessert with a few bonus nutritional perks thrown in.

In the Lenny and Larry’s Chocolate Chip Complete Cookie, the ingredients are as follows:
